Sexually transmitted disease in a monogamous couple is possible

The sudden appearance of a sexually transmitted disease (STD) in a monogamous couple does not necessarily indicate infidelity by either partner. Some infections can lie dormant for years after initial exposure. That's what I told my wife right before she hit me. I guess she wasn't convinced.
